Hi everyone, welcome to Amsterdam. My name is Diego Jolly-Caeiro and I will be the President of ESN Amsterdam this Year. Currently I'm studying sociology. I was born in Amsterdam and still live here after 23 years. I was born to a Portuguese father and an Indonesian mother and from my childhood I have friends from all kind of nationalities. I've been a mentor for 1 year and got so excited about the ESN organisation that i wanted to do more for the organisation. I love to travel, watch movies, hang out with friends, and walk my dog. The most important thing about the Erasmus program is to have a wonderful time with life-time experiences and memories that you'll never forget. If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me or talk to me on any of our ''borrels'' or activities.!!!
Hi everyone! My name is Justine an (almost) 23 year old law student. I grew up in a small town in the south of the Netherlands which is called Vught, but have been living onUilenstede for the last 2 years. Before I became the secretary for ESN, I’ve been a mentor for 1.5 year. After my experience of being a mentor I wanted to organize the mentor program myself, so here I am! Next to the mentor groups I’m also incharge of the Weekly mail and the memberships. As you might understand my life does not only exist in doing stuff for ESN, so next to that I love to cook, hang out with my friends/floor mates/family, read, party and shop. One of the important things of the Erasmus experience is to create memories you’ll never forget, so let’s work together and make this period one of the best moments of your lives!
Hoi! My name is Jennifer and I’ll be your treasurer this year! I’ve been involved with ESN for about 2 years now, from active member, to mentor to boardmember! Next to my work for ESN Vuniverse, I work as a waitress at the university café and I study epidemiology. When I do have some free time (unfortunately that’s not often) I like to socialize, travel and photograph. I look forward to ensure you will get the most out of your exchange in our country and make sure you will experience Amsterdam to the max!
Hi there, I am Marloes. A 25 year old business administration student. Originally from Groningen (in the north of the Netherlands), but a proud citizen of Amsterdam since April 2011. I loved my Erasmus year in Berlin and extended my stay abroad with an internship in Munich.
One of my greatest hobbies is travelling: city trips, working abroad and backpacking in Australia are my favorites. Also organizing trips and parties I highly enjoy, which is why I applied for my function as activities coordinator at ESN VUniverse. My friends would describe me as party girl, although I also like studying and can get serious every now and then. I am looking forward to this ESN year very much and I am hoping to organize activities that will be enthusiastically attended by many of you. Cheers to a fabulous year.
Hi everyone! My name is Sophie Tekelenburg and I’ll be in charge of the PR and external relations of ESN Vuniverse this academic year. I study sociology and doing my teaching degree in social sciences. Besides trying to teach youngsters the basics of democracy, government, international relations and development aid, I love to travel, meet with friends and write. I have a special interest in Africa and was recently in Malawi participating in a teaching project. I am relatively new in the beautiful city of Amsterdam. Just like Marloes I was living in Groningen before, a cute student city in the north of Holland. In Groningen I stepped into the world of ESN as a mentor and integration coordinator. I had such a fantastic year with the internationals and my fellow committee members that I decided to extend the ESN vibe, so I applied to become a member of the board of ESN Vuniverse. I hope that we, the board of ESN Vuniverse, make your stay in Amsterdam an unforgettable one. Hope to see you soon at one of the ‘Borrels’ or the other activities!
