
SRVU
The SRVU is the student union of the Vrije Universieit, Amsterdam. The SRVU was founded in 1947 as an organization to represent the interests of all students concerning quality and accessibility of education, housing and general student well-being. Up to this day, these principles still apply. The SRVU has a great influence on the University policy by being the voice of the student.
Not only does the SRVU represent all students, it also provides value-adding services. These services include:
- Room-agency (Kamerbureau): The Room-agency provides rooms for rent, housing mediation and all possible information concerning renting a room in Amsterdam.
- Legal advice: For all your problems with the exam commission, landlords, theft, burglary and intimidation.
- Information service: For all your questions concerning living and studying in Amsterdam.
- Affordable bikes for sale. All bikes cost 55 euro.
- Starting in academic year 2010-2011: used study books service.
- A platform to develop and organize activities events and debates.
